Inland Empire Cybersecurity Initiative (IECI)
Community Development Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Pipeline
The National Security Agency (NSA) has sponsored a program in Southern California for community development called the Inland Empire Cybersecurity Initiative (IECI pronounced "I see"). With this grant, the CSUSB cyber program is supporting paid cyber apprenticeships!
It all starts with the K-12 exploration phase targeting middle and high schools to identify talent and develop students through the start of this cybersecurity pipeline. High school graduates then enter the CSUSB Cyber Pre-apprenticeship program available for community college students and CSUSB freshman & sophomores. Then paid apprenticeships for CSUSB upperclassmen lead to full time employment right here in the Inland Empire. CSUSB, coalition partners, and employers from the community work with students throughout this entire pipeline to ensure the successful start of each new cyber career.
